We love this city. We been getting so much support and love from the City and we'll like to show our love. Eugene Oregon is also known as Emerald City. Yeah we know. We know that there are few cities in states that has same nickname, like Seattle. Unlike other cities in states, Eugene had this nickname since 1959 REALLY OLD! And Seattle? um... they made their nickname on 1981. Sorry Seattle you loose! Nothing against Seattle. Why Emerald City you might ask? Well Eugene is one of the most green city in United States. In Eugene 85 percent of the energy is generated by wind. In 2007 Eugene introduced hybrid public transportation. This city is home to many green start ups. Very nice! We have right to use name EMERALD CITY! Take This Seattle! (again nothing against them) OK now you got the name Emerald City, now whats up with the number 1862 you might ask. Well my friend, that's the year the city of Eugene officially formed. Eugene is named after founder Eugene Franklin Skinner and the city was formed 1853 then officially named as Eugene City on 1862. This is story of Eugene. The great city we call home. We love Eugene Culture and like to express our love through our design.
