We were at a show in Portland and heard one of PJ's member John Slaughter reading his poem.
He's poems were all about social justice, equal rights.
He's words were strong! Sharp!
It was like sniper shooting a bullet right on target
Assassin!
Assassinating injustice with his rhymes.

Greetings! My name is John Slaughter a.k.a. Punchy of the Oldominion crew. I have been performing and enjoying hip hop since high school ('94) and our inception (Ol'D) in 1998. I have been writing poetry ever since the mid '80's but I have been traveling performing poetry professionally for the past 14 years. I have several poetry projects in works to be published, and I am a regular in the open mics/poetry slam circuits. I am the founder and host of 'Poetic Justice', a monthly poetry show that showcases some of the best poets in Portland and the entire northwest! The Poetic Justice poetry show is not just a show, it is a movement!!! Whether it's working in the schools, or taking PJ to college campuses, I am always taking my work and PJ to the streets to share with the public. I am a motivational speaker and a mentor as well! I also host a show called Lyricist Lounge, a hip hop cypher showcase for the hip hop community!!! I promote local artists and musicians, as well as assisting in events and benefits! I love hip hop and I love my people and my community!!! I am a proud Black Lives Matter activist and a soldier in this modern day civil rights revolution!! I am a proud Portlander raised in NEP. I am an Oregon grad with degree's in Education and Sports marketing. But most of my time consists of writing, coaching high school football and college basketball, and raising my three young daughters.
