We as Modern Tribe Outfit was proud sponsor and staff of the DisOrient Film Festival.
It was an amazing opportunity for us and we learned so much from the event.
We had about 30 different filmmakers from all around the world participated to the event.
One of the guest we had was a guy name Vishavjit Singh.
He is a cartoon artist who wears Captain America suit with turban and walks around NY City.
This was he's experiment to see how people will react when they see most iconic super hero with different looks.
It is his effort to show that people shouldn't judge people by the looks and promote racial equality.
While he was at the festival, Vish asked us to sign him up to give speech at some schools in town.
We set him up with one elementary school and one middle school.
One of the parent from this elementary school wrote us an email and also posted a video on her Facebook.
She said that she is not happy with the talk which Vish gave at the school.
She said that the subject is not appropriate for young kids.
She also commented that many "white" people goes through lot worse things than most of the minorities.
She said that she's been raped 3 times and use to be drug addict and she had to hustle to survive.
She said that she been to lot more than most of the minorities ever had.
To her she's just sick of listening "White privilege"
So for these comment, my question is than when or what age is right age to talk about racism and social justice?
Also is minorities just complaining? Everyone goes through different things and their own dark history.
Is it right to say or blame on race for everything?
We want you to think about this and let us know.
